Today, I turn 33. On August 2nd, 1980 I was born and bred to be in IT. (j/k). As is true for us all, we are all born with a gift; for me, the gift was my understanding and patience of computers. In high school, my family purchased its first “personal computer” (a.k.a PC), which happened to be a Gateway 2000. The ol’ Gateway is long gone now but I did choose to save it’s Pentium processor, which is considered an artifact of the mid-1990’s.
Ironically, my first IT internship was in 2000. Indeed, the so-called Year-2000 bug did not sway me from pursuing a career in Information Technology. That summer, I completed my first website and a small corporate intranet. Fast forward 13 years, I’ve designed and developed at least 100 websites and have worked on hundreds of computers. My passion for IT continues to this day – and I continue to maintain the patience required in this profession.
