It was my intention to provide a conclusion to the Square setup I have been involved with over the weekend, however, snail-mail has defeated this goal. The final ingredient, which was a Cash Drawer Multipro Cable for Star 24V Series, was not delivered until Monday 9/23/2013 even though I requested ‘Expedited Shipping’ when I placed the order on Tuesday, September 17 from Amazon.com. Ugh – life is too short to complain.
Today, I completed the final placement of all items related to the Square POS setup. This included strategic placement of the Kitchen printer, cash drawer, and receipt printer. Overall, the setup of Square, the Square Stand, and the other recommended hardware specified at squareup.com, was painless. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I had everything up and running. Once the Kitchen Ticket printer and receipt printer were added to the network, I opened the Square Register app and the software quickly identified the connected printers and the Square Stand itself. What! No special and/or complicated configuration? No driver installation necessary? Incredible. I will let the pictures below tell the rest of the story.
